I was asked about being on a whole foods diet while being pregnant, I have to say that I am not a doctor but I do know that you need an additional 300 calories a day to support your baby. While I was pregnant I was not on a whole foods diet but I was a vegetarian, and I tired to eat as healthy as possible for the baby and to avoid stretch marks. I ate almonds through out the day and usually had an extra apple. I also ate many pretzels but they are not a whole food. So, I have almost been on this diet for a week, it makes me feel very good to know that I am being kind to my body and not giving money to corporations that want to keep people, fat and apathetic.
Red means not whole foods
Breakfast Water and red potatoes and red onions with hot sauce (if you haven't noticed, this is my favorite)
Snack water and a handful of goldfish crackers and a handful of mixed nuts
Lunch Quinoa, corn and Lima beans and a glass of water
Snack water and a mango
Dinner water, rice, black beans, kidney beans, corn and red onions
Dessert pineapples
